1. Platform Operator Identification
The Rideko application is operated by:
- Rideko Mobility NV - a company registered and domiciled in the Republic of Suriname, responsible for the local operation of the platform, the management of the digital cash wallet, and the relationship with users in Suriname.
- Sturen LLC - a company registered in the United States of America, holder of the digital payment account with Stripe, and responsible for processing international card transactions.
Both entities share the same ownership and operate in a coordinated manner for the comprehensive operation of the Rideko platform. The relationship between both entities is formalized through an internal joint operation agreement.
2. Description of Services
Rideko is a super app that integrates multiple services for the Suriname market and expansion regions. Rideko acts exclusively as a technological intermediary between users and independent service providers across all modules described below. Rideko does not directly provide transportation, courier, accommodation, or marketplace products under its own name.
2.1 Transportation (Taxi)
Connects passengers with independent, registered, and verified drivers on the platform for urban mobility services. Drivers are autonomous service providers, not employees of Rideko.
2.2 Package Delivery
Facilitates the shipment of packages and parcels through registered independent couriers. Rideko is not a carrier and assumes no responsibility for the contents of packages, except where required by applicable law.
2.3 Food Delivery
Allows users to place food and beverage orders from affiliated restaurants and businesses, with delivery carried out by registered independent couriers.
2.4 Reservations Module
Allows users to schedule appointments and book real services from third-party providers in the following categories:
- Beauty salons, barbershops, and aesthetic centers
- Home services: technicians, cleaning, maintenance
- Vehicle rentals by the hour or by the day
- Temporary accommodation: hostels, apartments, B&Bs
- Other services from providers registered on the platform
All services in the reservations module correspond to real, physical goods and services. Rideko does not sell digital content through this module.
2.5 Marketplace
A space where verified sellers list and sell tangible physical products. Rideko acts as an intermediary and does not sell its own products. All listed products are physical goods; no downloadable digital content is sold through the marketplace.
3. Registration and User Requirements
To access Rideko's services, the user must create an account with truthful, complete, and up-to-date information. Registration entails:
- Being at least 18 years of age.
- Providing full name, a valid email address, and an active phone number.
- For drivers and sellers: submitting valid identity documents for verification.
- Expressly accepting these Terms and Rideko's Privacy Policy.
Rideko may reject, suspend, restrict, or cancel registrations that do not meet the requirements, show signs of fraud or identity impersonation, violate these Terms, misuse the platform, or create security, legal, or operational risks.
4. Rideko Digital Wallet (Rideko Wallet)
The Rideko Wallet is a prepaid internal balance system that allows users and drivers to store, transfer, and use balance to pay for real services within the platform. The Wallet is not a banking product, does not generate interest, is not a deposit account, and is not subject to banking regulation in Suriname. Its sole purpose is to facilitate payment for services within the Rideko ecosystem.
4.1 Top-Up Methods
The Wallet balance may be topped up using the following methods:
- Cash at Rideko physical offices in Paramaribo: the user visits the office with their active account and Rideko staff manually and on record credit the balance. Rideko issues a top-up receipt.
- Debit or credit card via Stripe: secure online processing. The charge will appear on the user's statement as "Rideko Mobility" or "Sturen LLC". Card top-ups are subject to Stripe Inc.'s Terms of Service.
- Uni5Pay: digital transfer via the Uni5Pay gateway.
- Other methods officially enabled by Rideko and communicated to users.
4.2 Transfers Between Accounts
The Rideko Wallet allows balance transfers between registered and verified accounts within the platform. Transfers are designed to facilitate payments between users and drivers in the context of platform services, such as a user loading balance to a driver who assisted them, or a driver receiving a digital tip.
Conditions applicable to all transfers:
- Both accounts must be active, verified, and identified on the platform.
- Transfers are recorded in the account history of both parties, including date, time, and amount.
- Rideko may establish daily and monthly transfer limits for security and regulatory compliance reasons.
- Transfers are irreversible once confirmed, except in the case of a technical error verified by Rideko or where Rideko is legally required to reverse or investigate a transaction.
- Rideko monitors transfers to detect unusual patterns. Accounts with suspicious activity may be preventively suspended.
- It is strictly prohibited to use the transfer system for money laundering, illicit financing, or evasion of financial controls.
4.3 Use of Balance
Wallet balance may be used exclusively to pay for real physical services and products within the Rideko platform: transportation, delivery, food delivery, reservations, and marketplace purchases.
4.4 Expiration, Cancellation, and Refunds
The balance has no expiration date as long as the account remains active. Wallet balances generally cannot be redeemed for cash or withdrawn by users, except where legally required or specifically authorized by Rideko under applicable regulations. In the event of account cancellation, any available balance may be reviewed and handled according to applicable law, fraud-prevention requirements, chargeback status, and Rideko internal compliance procedures.
Refunds may be issued only where required by law, in cases of duplicate payments, verified technical failures, unauthorized transactions, or circumstances expressly approved by Rideko. Wallet top-ups are generally non-refundable once successfully processed and credited, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
4.5 Balance Withdrawal
In its initial version, the Rideko Wallet does not allow withdrawals to external bank accounts. Rideko may enable this functionality in future versions, in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements in Suriname, and will notify users in advance.
5. Payment Processing with Stripe
Debit and credit card payments are securely processed by Stripe Inc., a company certified under the PCI DSS Level 1 standard. Rideko does not store bank card data on its servers.
By making a card payment through the App, the user also accepts Stripe's Terms of Service, available at stripe.com/legal. The entity appearing on the user's bank statement is Sturen LLC, the registered holder of the Stripe account linked to the Rideko platform.
Stripe payments correspond exclusively to:
- Balance top-ups to the Rideko Wallet for use in platform services.
- Direct payment of services within the platform when the user selects this option.
Users agree not to initiate unjustified, false, or abusive chargebacks. Rideko reserves the right to suspend Wallet functionality, restrict account access, investigate disputed transactions, request additional verification, and provide transaction evidence to payment processors where a payment dispute or chargeback occurs.
6. Independent Service Providers
Drivers, couriers, service providers in the reservations module, and marketplace sellers are independent providers, not employees or agents of Rideko. Their relationship with Rideko is one of platform technology service provision.
Rideko verifies the identity of registered providers through official documents but does not independently guarantee or warrant the quality, safety, legality, suitability, availability, or result of services provided by independent providers, and assumes no liability for the acts or omissions of such providers toward the user, except where required by applicable law.
7. Fees, Commissions, and Price Transparency
Rideko charges a commission on each transaction completed within the platform as consideration for the use of the technology. The commission percentage is communicated to providers at the time of registration.
The user will be informed of the total price of the service before confirming any transaction. There are no hidden charges. Taxi module prices may vary dynamically based on demand, distance, and time of day.
In the marketplace, prices are freely set by each seller. Rideko does not determine or manipulate the prices of third-party products.
Rideko reserves the right to cancel, reverse, adjust, or refuse transactions resulting from technical errors, incorrect pricing, duplicate orders, system malfunctions, unauthorized activity, or suspected fraud.
8. Geolocation
The App requests access to the device's location to provide transportation, delivery, and nearby provider location services. Geolocation is requested through explicit device permission (runtime permission) and may be revoked by the user at any time from the device settings.
Real-time location is only activated during active use of the App for services that require it. Background location tracking does not occur unless the user expressly authorizes it for specific functions, such as tracking an active trip.
9. User Conduct
The user agrees to use the App in a lawful and respectful manner. The following are prohibited:
- Using the platform for illegal activities or those contrary to the public order of Suriname.
- Harassing, threatening, or discriminating against drivers, service providers, or other users.
- Providing false information in reservations, orders, or transactions.
- Using the Wallet for money laundering, illicit financing, evasion of financial controls, or other unlawful activities.
- Listing illegal, counterfeit, dangerous, restricted, prohibited, or illicitly sourced products on the marketplace.
- Attempting to compromise the security or technical integrity of the platform.
10. Suspension, Restriction, and Termination of Accounts
Rideko reserves the right to suspend, restrict, deactivate, or terminate any account immediately where Rideko reasonably determines that the user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or abusive activity, created security or legal risks, provided false information, misused the Wallet, initiated unjustified chargebacks, or used the platform in a manner that may harm users, providers, Rideko, payment processors, or third parties.
Where appropriate, Rideko may notify the affected user and provide an opportunity to contact support. Rideko may retain records where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
11. Limitation of Liability
Rideko acts as a technological intermediary and shall not be liable for:
- Damages arising from service interruptions due to technical causes or force majeure.
- Accidents, injuries, or material damages occurring during the provision of services by independent providers.
- Loss or damage to packages in the delivery service, except where required by applicable law.
- Quality, authenticity, legality, suitability, availability, or delivery of marketplace products.
- Balance transfers made in error by the user themselves.
- Losses arising from incorrect information provided by users, providers, restaurants, sellers, or third parties.
Rideko's maximum liability to a user shall in no event exceed the amount paid for the service that gave rise to the claim, except where a higher amount is required by applicable law.
12. Cancellation and Refund Policies by Module
12.1 Taxi and Delivery
Free cancellation before the provider accepts the service. Cancellation after acceptance may incur a charge according to the policy in effect within the App. Refunds may be considered in cases of duplicate payment, verified technical failure, unauthorized transaction, or service failure confirmed by Rideko.
12.2 Reservations
No-cost cancellation with more than 24 hours' notice, unless a different provider policy is clearly shown before booking. Late cancellations may result in partial or full retention of the amount paid, according to the provider's policy and applicable law.
12.3 Marketplace
Free cancellation before dispatch. Post-dispatch returns, refunds, or exchanges are subject to the seller's policy, product condition, applicable consumer protection rules, and Rideko's mediation process.
12.4 Wallet Top-Ups
Wallet top-ups are generally non-refundable once successfully processed and credited, except where required by law, where a duplicate payment or verified technical error occurred, or where Rideko expressly approves a refund after review.
13. Intellectual Property
The name "Rideko", the logo, the App design, and all proprietary content are the property of Rideko Mobility NV. Reproduction or use without written authorization is prohibited.
14. Anti-Fraud Policy and Regulatory Compliance
Rideko implements active measures to prevent fraud, money laundering, and illicit financing within the platform:
- Identity verification (basic KYC) for drivers, sellers, and users with high transaction limits.
- Automated transaction monitoring to detect unusual patterns.
- Configurable top-up, transfer, and Wallet usage limits.
- Preventive account blocking for suspicious activity, with notification to the user where appropriate.
- Cooperation with competent authorities in response to legal requirements.
The user declares that the funds loaded to the Wallet originate from lawful activities and that the use of the platform is carried out for legal purposes.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Suriname. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of Paramaribo. For users outside Suriname, the applicable local consumer protection regulations shall additionally apply where required by law.
16. Amendments to These Terms
Rideko may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to the user via an in-app notice and/or email at least 7 days in advance before they take effect, where practical and legally required. Continued use of the App after the changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
