This Privacy Policy explains how RIDEKO ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information when users access or use the RIDEKO platform, including the RIDEKO User and RIDEKO Drivers applications.

RIDEKO is operated by Rideko Mobility NV, a company registered in Suriname.

1. Data Controller

2. Eligibility

RIDEKO services are intended only for users who are at least 18 years of age. By using the application, users confirm that they meet this requirement.

RIDEKO does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will promptly delete their information and deactivate the account.

3. Information We Collect

Depending on the type of account and services used, we may collect the following categories of information:

General User Information:

  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Profile picture
  • Account information
  • Device information and identifiers
  • Usage information and app activity
  • Transaction history
  • Wallet activity

Location Information:

  • Precise real-time location while the application is active
  • Background location data during active trips (where user permission is granted)
  • Pickup and destination locations
  • Route and navigation information
Background location is used solely during active trips to enable real-time driver-rider matching, route accuracy, safety features, and operational functionality. RIDEKO does not collect background location data when no active trip is in progress.

Driver Information (RIDEKO Drivers only):

  • Government-issued identification documents
  • Driver's license information
  • Vehicle information and registration documents
  • Vehicle photos
  • Driver profile photo
  • Trip history and activity

Driver documentation is collected solely for identity verification, legal compliance, platform eligibility, operational requirements, and safety purposes.

4. Device Permissions

RIDEKO may request access to the following device permissions. Users can manage permissions through their device settings; disabling certain permissions may affect application functionality.

Location Services:

Used to match riders and drivers, provide navigation, optimize routes, and support operational functionality. Background location access is requested to support active trip tracking.

Camera:

Used for capturing profile photos, driver verification, vehicle documentation, and identity verification.

Photo Gallery / Storage:

Used for uploading profile images and required documentation.

Push Notifications:

Used for ride requests, trip updates, account notifications, security alerts, and operational communications.

5. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Create and manage user accounts
  • Provide transportation and delivery services
  • Process transactions and wallet activities
  • Verify driver identity and documentation
  • Improve customer support
  • Improve application performance and user experience
  • Prevent fraud and unauthorized activity
  • Enforce platform rules and policies
  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations

6. Internal Wallet and Balance System

RIDEKO may provide an internal balance system for use within the platform. Users may fund their internal balance through supported payment methods.

Internal balance:

  • Can only be used for services within the RIDEKO platform
  • Does not constitute bank funds, stored value accounts, or electronic money
  • Cannot be redeemed for cash or withdrawn by users
  • Has no monetary value outside of the RIDEKO platform
  • Is not insured and does not generate interest
  • Is not considered a deposit account
RIDEKO reserves the right to modify, restrict, suspend, reverse, adjust, or investigate internal balances where necessary due to fraud investigations, technical errors, unauthorized activity, legal requirements, or platform misuse.

7. Payment Processing

Payments and wallet funding may be processed through third-party payment providers including:

  • Stripe
  • Uni5Pay
  • Other supported payment providers

Payment information is processed securely by those providers under their own privacy and security standards. RIDEKO does not store complete payment card information.

8. Account Transfers

Users may transfer internal balance within the platform where available. RIDEKO reserves the right to investigate, suspend, review, limit, reverse, or cancel transfers in situations including:

  • Fraud prevention
  • Technical issues
  • Unauthorized activity
  • Legal requirements

9. Third-Party Services

RIDEKO integrates with third-party providers including but not limited to:

  • Stripe – Payment processing
  • Uni5Pay – Payment processing
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) – Cloud hosting and infrastructure
  • OneSignal – Push notifications
  • Google Maps – Mapping and navigation
  • Mapbox – Mapping services
  • Infobip – Communications

These providers may process personal information according to their own privacy policies. RIDEKO is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party providers.

Third-party SDKs and services integrated within the application may collect device identifiers or usage data as part of their normal operation. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details.

9A. Tracking, Analytics, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

RIDEKO may collect device information, application activity, and usage information to improve application performance, functionality, security, and user experience.

RIDEKO and integrated third-party providers may use SDKs, cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies for performance monitoring, service functionality, security and fraud prevention, system diagnostics, analytics, and operational improvements.

RIDEKO does not sell personal information and does not use collected personal information for third-party advertising purposes.

10. Data Sharing

RIDEKO does not sell users' personal information.

Information may be shared with:

  • Payment processors
  • Technical service providers
  • Cloud hosting providers
  • Identity verification providers
  • Government authorities or legal entities where legally required

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide services
  • Maintain operational records
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent fraud
  • Meet legal obligations

Financial records, wallet transactions, and payment information may be retained for up to seven (7) years where required by legal, accounting, regulatory, or fraud prevention obligations.

13. Account Deletion

Users can permanently delete their account directly through the application settings where available. Upon account deletion:

  • Personal information may be deleted or anonymized
  • Certain records may be retained where legally required or necessary for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or financial recordkeeping

14. Your Rights

Users may request:

  • Access to personal information
  • Correction of inaccurate information
  • Deletion of personal information where applicable
  • Restriction of processing where permitted by law

15. International Data Transfers

RIDEKO uses third-party service providers including Amazon Web Services, Stripe, and others that may process personal information outside of Suriname. By using the RIDEKO platform, users acknowledge that their data may be transferred to and processed in other countries in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to This Policy

RIDEKO may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Users will be notified of material changes where required. Continued use of the applications after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
